Movement at the Kiel Trade Union House
November 2025
Since 2019, we have been working on various concepts for the conversion and renovation of the listed trade union house in Kiel. Together with Gans Architects from Munich, several utilisation concepts were developed between 2019 and 2023. In the meantime, there was a change of ownership within the German Trade Union Confederation (DGB), which brought the actual use of the building into a completely different perspective.
Instead of the previously planned integration of a kindergarten plannings and realization of offices has started. The time-honoured event hall, the "Legiensaal," will be used by a tenant along with the adjacent restaurant. The planned move-in date is September 1, 2026. Until then, work is proceeding at full speed to complete the project in compliance with historic preservation regulations.
Due to our close proximity to the project site and the complexity of working within an existing building, our specialist engineers for HVAC and electrical engineering, in addition to the architects, are on-site almost daily. They ensure that the required quality is implemented by the construction and technical trades during the ongoing renovation.
After the premises were completely removed down to the foundation walls, the first installation works for ventilation systems and electrical systems are currently at full speed. The target completion date for the ventilation systems, water and wastewater systems, heating supply, and electrical systems with building automation is May 31, 2026. The remaining interior design details are to be integrated until September 1, 2026, at which point the property will be handed over to the new tenant.

Island Longing for Amrum
Oktober 2025
In 2023 it was just one of many ideas for a team event from management, this year the employees themselves expressed a desire for a return to Amrum. Although the island is only 20.5 km² in size - or rather small - it offers so many possibilities that our specially formed organizing team was able to put together a completely new program for three days in the second week of October: A visit to the windmill museum in Nebel, a crab cutter tour including catching, peeling, cooking, and enjoying the fish, a traditional Frisian sport called Boßeln on the most challenging course in Northern Germany, and a bicycle tour from north to south. In between, there was plenty of time to stroll along the long Kniepsand beach in small groups or even try a run and dip. With so many positive impressions, we're now well-prepared for the final stretch of the year, and it's hard to believe that we still haven't discovered everything. With our newly acquired Frisian diploma, we'll definitely come back again!

VgV tender won in Baden-Württemberg
August 2025
Together with our colleagues DAK (Dünser. Aigner. Kollegen) in Munich, we won the VgV tender for the expansion of the wastewater treatment plant in Nürtingen. The Nürtingen wastewater treatment plant currently has a capacity of approximately 75,000 population equivalents (PE). Nürtingen is located southeast of Stuttgart in the Esslingen district. With this, we secured a wastewater treatment plant project in the beautiful state of Baden-Württemberg. Which isn´t entirely true, as we already developed parts of the detailed design and tender specifications for the plant's upgrade in Nürtingen about 16 years ago, as a junior partner. The main focus of its renewal and expansion will be the biological treatment stage, priliminary treatment and its associated infrastructure. The original biological trickling filter process, which is still partially in operation, will be completely phased out. The city of Nürtingen expects a modern and innovative biological process technology for its wastewater treatment plant. We are keen to meet this expectations and looking forward to the collaboration.

Relocated and Consolidated in Bonn
Juli 2025
Following the merger with our colleagues at Rheinplan, our Bonn branch has moved into new and significantly larger office building. With a total of approximately 15 employees, we now form a highly effective team in the Rhineland, specializing in planning of wastewater treatment plants, energy facilities, water and drinking water systems and canal construction.
When selecting our office building, we maintained the familiar charm of blending old and new elements that characterizes our office culture and moved into the historic villa at Adenauer Allee 208, a building steeped in history. The villa was built in 1913 by a renowned Bonn architect.
During the time when Bonn was the capital of the Federal Republic of Germany, the villa was used of Federal Government's Press and Information Office, as well as an administrative office of the Bundestag (German Parliament). After the relocation to Berlin in 1999 as capital city, the villa was used as a office by organizations such as the International Paralympic Committee (IPC).
We have now moved into most of the villa and have been sharing office space with Rheinplan since July 1, 2025. Opposite our new office on Adenauer Allee the Federal Chancellery and Villa Hammerschmid are locaded. Both properties continue to be used as branch offices, so it is to be expected that we will encounter one or more politicians there in the future.

Succession Planning - enwacon Acquires Rheinplan
Juni 2025
For over 10 years, Rheinplan and enwacon offices have been collaborating in the North Rhine-Westphalia and Rhineland-Palatinate region. Another key aspect of their partnership involves planning services for utility companies on the island of Amrum. Both offices have a proven track record of successfully implementing projects in the water and wastewater management sector. Given the mutually beneficial expertise of both firms, it was a natural step to explore merger options when considering succession planning.
And it was a success! Mr. Michael Eckhardt, partner and managing director of Rheinplan, expressed his desire to combine the established and well-developed structures of both offices. This convinced the shareholders of enwacon quite quickly and decisively, so that on June 1, 2025, 100% of the shares were transferred to enwacon. Mr. Eckhardt will remain with Rheinplan as managing director at least for the next three years.
